Boston: Bunker Hill
It’s very likely that my first knowledge about the Battle of Bunker Hill came via Schoolhouse Rock’s Shot Heard Round the World (the Bunker Hill part starts at the 1:00 mark). So it was with great anticipation that I ventured across Boston to visit the Bunker Hill Monument.
If you watched the Schoolhouse Rock video (or, ahem, actually studied some history), you might recognize the famous phrase “Don’t fire ’til you see the whites of their eyes” as being attributed to Colonel William Prescott. His statue stands in front of the monument.
Bonus Photo!
Later in the day I visited the Museum of Fine Arts. It featured a fascinating exhibit titled Megacities Asia, and the front lawn sported a really cool illuminated mechanical flower.
