Huntsville’s Burritt on the Mountain

Located on Monte Sano mountain in Huntsville, Alabama, Burritt on the Mountain combines history, education, and the arts into one attraction. Tour Dr. William Henry Burritt’s mansion, which now serves as a museum; wander through 19th century houses that have been relocated and rebuilt on site; and learn how to spin wool or take care of animals from volunteers who reenact daily life from a bygone era.

Burritt on the Mountain is very child friendly, and there were numerous young students touring the facilities the day I visited.
